1. Excelling Under The Radar

The hype was insane for the Cleveland Browns last season. After decades of falling well below expectations, just about everyone expected to see a postseason that went through Ohio. It didn’t take long for the season to unravel, as they started 2-6 after two months.

This season, nobody is picking the Browns to win the division (well, except us). The Baltimore Ravens are going to get all the hype with reigning MVP Lamar Jackson under center. If someone is going to think outside the box, they will likely choose the Pittsburgh Steelers, who outdid expectations despite losing Ben Roethlisberger in the second week of the season. The Browns might get a little love as a playoff pick since there is an extra team making the postseason this year.

Still, allowing the Browns to just focus on football and not the media circus that came with it will be a breath of fresh air. Especially with the strangeness that’s coming from the Covid-19 pandemic, they will have nobody in the building asking them a thousand questions about their each and every move.

This will especially be good for Beckham, who has had all of the football media watching his every move since his career started. He’s been expected to be perfect since that catch against the Cowboys. Now, he can just be a great receiver.

Even look at the Browns nationally televised games. They have one Monday Night game in December and one Thursday Night game against the Cincinnati Bengals in September. Besides that, it’s almost exclusively 1 p.m. games. They get to just focus on football. That’s a big deal for Cleveland.
