Pittsburgh Steelers

James Conner – Conner has an amazing backstory of beating cancer and serving as an inspiration to so many. On the field, though, he never clocked over 1,000 rushing yards in three pro seasons.

In fact, he’s only made it over 500 once. The injury-riddled back has a decent skill set, but if he didn’t have immediate success filling in for Le’Veon Bell for a team like the Steelers, Conner would be fighting for his job against Benny Snell.

San Francisco 49ers

Arik Armstead – For the first four seasons of his NFL career, Armstead was the former first-round pass rusher who had yet to put it all together.

Suddenly, in his fifth season and his first-ever contract year, Armstead helps the Niners with a 10 sack season that nearly doubles his career total. General manager John Lynch rewarded him with a lucrative extension, but it looks eerily like another instance of a player finally putting in the effort required to earn the big payday.

Seattle Seahawks

Cedric Ogbuehi – Now with his third NFL team, Cedric Ogbuehi is still known to many as a former first round pick, but the former Cincinnati Bengals lineman has struggled mightily with pass protection since he first entered the league.

It’s hard to imagine he’s really the answer for the Seahawks. If not for the draft status, it’s hard to believe Ogbuehi would be fighting for any starting role.
