Watch: 4-star recruit Dallas Turner commits to Alabama over Georgia, other finalists

Four-star defensive end Dallas Turner has committed to Nick Saban and Alabama.

On Wednesday morning, prized four-star defensive end Dallas Turner decided to shut down his recruitment, closing things after a long process. He was down to Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, Michigan and Florida.

It was widely speculated he was going back and forth between Alabama and Georgia, but Turner revealed his choice and it was the news Crimson Tide fans were desperately hoping to hear: he’s Tuscaloosa-bound.

Alabama assistant Charles Huff ran the point on Dallas Turner’s recruitment.

This is a monster get for Saban and his coaching staff. As you can see in the video above, Turner is fired up about his future with the Tide and making plays in the SEC trenches. The massive 6-foot-4, 235-pounder is ranked the No. 44 overall recruit and the No. 2 weak-side defensive end in the country per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

In total, he had 33 offers, picking Alabama over the schools mentioned above, plus Arkansas, Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, LSU, Kentucky and many others. Alabama running backs coach Charles Huff was the point man on Turner’s recruitment.

Huff is having an unreal time out on the recruiting trail, as Turner’s commitment now has him as the No. 1 ranked recruiter in the country per 247Sports. His per commit ranking is at a 95.85, which is just an unreal number.

With Turner now on board, Alabama holds 10 verbals, with two coming from five-star prospects. Turner joins 5-star wide receiver, Jacorey Brooks, on that list. The Tide’s national ranking is at No. 12 for the 2021 class and No. 4 in the SEC, per the 247Sports Team Rankings.

Saban and Alabama are only getting started and have plenty of time to stay in the hunt for one of the top classes in the country. Adding Turner will only bring them plenty of momentum out on the trail.
