With their first round pick in 2019, the Lions selected a dynamic, playmaking tight end. Unfortunately, injuries held them back in 2019. In 2020, they hope their tight end can breakout and prove worthy of the #8 pick.

Let’s talk more about him.

TJ Hockenson (ADP: TE16): TJ Hockenson started his career with a bang. Week 1 of 2019, he dropped 6 catches, 131 yards and a touchdown, which led to him being the #1 Waiver Wire pickup for the next week. Unfortunate for us, and for him, that would be the peak of his season. He constantly battled injuries and ended up starting only 7 games. It is important to note that in those games, he averaged 6 targets. Not bad for a rookie TE.

This year, with all the focus on Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones Jr., Hockenson will feast. He has the skill and athleticism to create separation from linebackers. We all know the Lions have never been good at running the ball, so they are going to have to throw to move the ball. Plenty of opportunities will come TJ’s way. He is a great player to take a flyer on at the end of your drafts. He will make the most of his opportunities as he will finish as a top 10 TE in fantasy football this year.

Now, on to the Green Bay Packers.
