Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. OF. . Allen Craig. 3. player. 33

Allen Craig had a total of five hits in the seven-game series. Three of those went for home runs and he drove in five key runs for the Cardinals.

His first home run of the series came in Game 3 to give the Cardinals a 1-0 lead in a game that ended in a 16-7 victory. Then Craig really stepped it up to show how clutch he was.

Home run No. 2 came in Game 6 in the bottom of the eighth inning. Talk about dramatic. Craig pulled the Cardinals within two and without that home run, the comeback in the ninth inning may have ultimately fell short.

His third and final home run came in Game 7. He gave the Cardinals a 3-2 lead and the Rangers were never able to score again. Three home runs and all three came in Cardinals victories. None of the three were as dramatic as what Freese did, but they were just as important.

In addition to driving himself in three times, Craig finished the series with a total of five runs scored. This was all for a player who had a combined four hits in the NLDS and NLCS in 2011. He had also only appeared in 75 regular-season games and was making his postseason debut.
