5 players who deserve more credit for Giants dynasty from 2010-2014
Andres Torres was with the Giants from 2009-11 before joining the New York Mets in 2012. He then returned for one final season in 2013. This meant he was only on one World Series team in San Francisco. Still, he made the most of it.
Torres had seven hits in the 2010 NLCS and added seven more in the World Series. He appeared in every game of the 4-1 series victory over the Texas Rangers and drove in three runs as his bat was among the hottest on the team.
2010 was also Torres’ best season by far in terms of WAR as he finished with a mark of 5.3. Not bad for a guy whose career total ended up being 7.8 in nine career seasons.
The reserve player earned his way into a starting spot during that 2010 season and finished his Giants career with a 7.9 WAR. There was something about player on that team that he couldn’t replicate elsewhere in New York, Detroit, or Texas.
Every contribution counts in a title-winning season and Torres going out of his mind in the latter half of the 2010 postseason makes him one of the early heroes of this dynasty.
