Pick Analysis. . Matt Nagy. 3. 57. Scouting Report. player. Chicago Bears

Nagy is one of the most difficult coaches in the league to evaluate. At times, he’s made the Bears look like one of the up and coming teams in the NFL. It’s also fair to criticize him for his complete failure to turn Mitchell Trubisky into a franchise quarterback.

Then again, it’s hard to know whether any coach could help Trubisky overcome his lack of ability to throw the football accurately. Fans inclined to excuse that sin will point out that Nagy’s defenses have routinely been good in Chicago. Of course, he arrived in the Windy City with a reputation as an offensive guru.

Add all that up and it’s clear that 2020 is a defining year for Nagy. It’s very likely he’ll turn to Nick Foles at the quarterback position. If he can’t field a top-10 offense with Foles at the helm there will be lots of questions about whether or not he’s really a talented offensive leader.

Nagy has to know that getting this team into the playoffs is an absolute requirement for him in 2020. The Bears want him to succeed, but at some point, the organization’s patience is going to run out. This is a crucial season for Nagy’s time in Chicago.
