QB. Pittsburgh Steelers. 55. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Devlin Hodges. 2. player

Last year, the Steelers were carried by their dominant defense, driving them into Week 17 battling for a playoff berth. But the one hindrance that held them back was at quarterback. Once Ben Roethlisberger suffered a UCL injury in his throwing elbow, head coach Mike Tomlin leaned upon Mason Rudolph, and received mixed results.

After things went poorly with Rudolph at the helm, Tomlin turned to Devlin Hodges, who’s play was average at best. Hodges completed 62.5 percent of his passes for 1,063 yards, five touchdowns, and eight interceptions in eight games.

At the start of the new league year, general manager Kevin Colbert threw cold water on the idea of the Steelers adding another quarterback to the roster. In fact, Colbert expressed the utmost confidence in the signal callers currently on the depth chart, which didn’t exactly instill confidence in the Steelers fanbase.

With Roethlisberger’s contract up in 2022, the Steelers would be wise to look for their future signal caller. Hodges isn’t that guy, and it’s doubtful that he’ll be offered a new deal by Pittsburgh before he hits free agency in 2021.
