Alabama football would love to add Tommy Brockermeyer to the recruiting class.

For as talented of a center prospect as James Brockermeyer, his twin brother Tommy Brockermeyer is an even better recruit at offensive tackle. The All Saints Episcopal standout is not only the No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2021 class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings but he’s also the No. 5 overall player in the class and the best recruit in Texas as well. And he has all the makings to be the Crimson Tide’s next first-round NFL Draft pick on the offensive line.

Though he missed the 2019 season with a shoulder injury, everything we’ve seen from Brockermeyer suggests that he has all the goods. He’s plenty big at 6-foot-6, 283 pounds but has a frame that can add more strength and mass while being able to move exceptionally well. His combination of length, technical ability at his age and ability to pack a punch make him a potentially dominant edge-setter on the offensive line.

Just as with his brother, Tommy Brockermeyer’s decision looks like it’s going to come down to Alabama and Texas. And while it’s worth noting that another brother, Luke, is currently a linebacker for the Longhorns and that their father played for Texas as well, Karl Scott and the Tide aren’t backing down from bringing in a legitimately unbelievable offensive line class.

For a program that is consistently making history and has produced seemingly one elite class of offensive line talent after another, it’d be a shocker if they weren’t able to bring Tommy Brockermeyer in to give Alabama football a pair of five-star offensive tackles to build around on offense for the future.
