Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Seattle Seahawks. 1. 36. LB. KJ Wright. player

The Seahawks have a bit of a problem at linebacker. The team has superstar Bobby Wagner locked in for $36 million over the next two seasons, and KJ Wright is earning $7 million in 2020 before he hits the open market. This past April, the Seahawks used their first round selection on Texas Tech linebacker Jordyn Brooks, who will obviously fit in as a starter for the foreseeable future.

Considering Seattle has very limited cap space, one of the two veterans has to go. And let’s be real here: the Seahawks are not getting rid of Bobby Wagner. So, Wright is the odd man out.

Wright is coming off a career year in terms of total tackles (132) and interceptions (three), but he didn’t perform too well in coverage. Wright was targeted 90 times by opposing quarterbacks, and he surrendered 64 receptions for 625 yards and three touchdowns.

While his stint in Seattle looks to be coming to a close, Wright will have no issues finding a new home in the NFL.
