AL Central

5. Detroit Tigers

The Tigers should be using the season to develop the young talent acquired after three straight terrible seasons. Any optimism is quickly put down by the fact the team lost 114 games in 2019. It will take time to improve, with the only positive being the young talent will get game action in 2020.

4. Kansas City Royals

The Royals are in a similar situation. The team has lost over 100 games in back-to-back years and did not make any notable additions this offseason. Developing young talent is the most important thing this year and any veteran who has success may be traded right away.

3. Chicago White Sox

The White Sox have the potential to shock us all and win the AL Central. However, that is just hype at this point. The other team in Chicago has not had a winning season since 2012. Yet the additions of Yasmani Grandal, Dallas Keuchel, and Edwin Encarnacion must not be forgotten. Add in Eloy Jimenez, Luis Robert, and Yoan Moncada and there is plenty of reasons to believe in this squad.

2. Cleveland Indians

The Indians are looking to get back to the World Series after coming so close to winning it all in 2016. Three disappointing seasons have followed and the team collapsed in the final week of the 2019 season. As long as Francisco Lindor is in town, the Indians are contenders.

1. Minnesota Twins

The Twins won the division last year and got even better this offseason. Josh Donaldson signed a brand new four-year deal and will add power to a Twins lineup that already had plenty. Don’t forget the Twins won 101 games last season.
