39. Team 2 — WR Keenan Allen, LAC
40. Team 1 — TE Zach Ertz, PHI
Round Recap: Round Four has a handful of names that were once considered layups in the first and second rounds of past fantasy football drafts. Todd Gurley has become a question mark more than an answer the past two seasons. While his numbers took a huge hit last year compared to his two prior seasons, he was still a solid RB2. This will be his latest ADP yet. Atlanta presents an excellent opportunity.
JuJu Smith-Schuster and Cooper Kupp somewhat switched places last year in terms of what players could expect. Smith-Schuster struggled when Ben Roethlisberger went down and wasn’t startable most weeks. Kupp, on the other hand, rose to stardom as a WR1 and Jared Goff’s favorite receiver. With no Brandin Cooks or Todd Gurley on the team, his value remains high and possibly underestimated.
Odell Beckham Jr. and Keenan Allen were both being drafted in the second round last season. Beckham Jr. had a career-worst year and is an exceptional choice as a bounceback player. Allen no longer has the luxury of Philip Rivers being his quarterback. He will be an interesting one to watch this year but should not fall out of the third round.
I notably selected Mark Andrews over Zach Ertz as his combination with Lamar Jackson presents a greater potential for him than Ertz has with a constantly injured Carson Wentz. And of course, Patrick Mahomes should not fall out of the fourth round.
Round Five
41. Team 1– WR Robert Woods, LAR
42. Team 2– RB Le’Veon Bell, NYJ
43. Team 3– RB Chris Carson, SEA
44. Team 4– WR Courtland Sutton, DEN
45. Team 5– RB James Conner, PIT
46. Team 6– WR Calvin Ridley, ATL
47. Team 7– RB Melvin Gordon, DEN
48. Team 8– TE Darren Waller, OAK
49. Team 9– WR DeVante Parker, MIA
50. Team 10– QB Kyler Murray, ARI
Round Recap: Seeing Le’Veon Bell’s name in a round that isn’t the first may hurt a lot of fantasy fans. His first season with the New York Jets was a struggle at times, as he showed that he is much more of an RB2 now than a one. Of course, the improvements on the offensive line and hopefully better Sam Darnold could help him turn around.
James Conner became apart of a running back by committee last season and with his constant injuries, he should no longer be seen as an RB1 despite the talent.
Out of all the players in this round, expect Courtland Sutton and Kyler Murray to deliver above their current value. Sutton was becoming a star last season and his quarterback for a lot of it was Joe Flacco. With a full offseason of work with Drew Lock, he could jump into WR1 territory. Murray has all the tools and offense to be the top-scoring quarterback in the lead. His ADP has him quite high, but biting on him at the end of the fifth or in the sixth round is totally worth it. He has the chance to win a lot of people their leagues this season at the QB position.
