Minshew Mania took the league by storm last year. This year will be Round 2 and it’ll be just as good, if not better.

Gardner Minshew II (ADP: QB23): You have to love Minshew Mania. He is an American Icon. Let’s look past the mustache and dig into his Fantasy Football stats. Minshew finished as QB20 last year. While I don’t advise going into this upcoming season with Minshew as your starting QB, I do think he is worthy of a late round flyer as a backup QB. He had the 5th most rushing yards last year. He was creative in the pocket, and put up plenty of fantasy points, not to mention it was also his rookie season and he wasn’t even supposed to see the field.

Minshew enters this year as the true number 1 quarterback on the Jaguars. I see a lot of garbage time fantasy points in Minshew’s future because of the team he plays for. If I am drafting a QB this late, I want someone with major upside and sorry Jimmy Garoppolo (QB22), Baker Mayfield (QB18) or Jared Goff (QB19) just is not the move. The only one of these with a high floor is Minshew. His rushing ability puts him well above these three QB’s being drafted before him.

Next up, the Houston Texans.
