It’s fair to wonder whether or not Beckham is starting to show signs of age-related regression at 27-years-old. It’s also fair to ask whether or not his relatively quiet 2019 season was largely due to the Browns’ struggles at quarterback.
The hiring of Kevin Stefanski should help everyone on Cleveland’s offensive roster in 2020. The biggest challenge for Beckham might be earning a big enough target share to satisfy his desire for a hefty workload. Mayfield will want to throw plenty of balls to Jarvis Landry and Austin Hooper too.
For the record, Beckham didn’t fall off a cliff last season. He still managed to post 74 catches for 1,035 yards despite a lot of dysfunction around him. NFL projections should always default to concerns about natural talent. OBJ has plenty of that. That’s why he has a chance to post big numbers this year despite his age and questionable attitude.
