White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson is the master of the bat flip.

Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson may be one of the most underrated players in the American League if not all of baseball.

After leading the American League in hitting last season with a .335 average, Anderson looks to prove that wasn’t a one-year fluke and that the White Sox are ready to contend.

Under a normal 162-game schedule, the White Sox still would have had higher expectations compared to the previous few years as they embarked on their rebuild. Now that several of the younger White Sox like Anderson and Yoan Moncada is raking and reinforcements are ready to break out like Eloy Jimenez and Luis Robert, the Sox are in a position to accelerate their competitive timeline.

Now, with a 60-game schedule Anderson and the White Sox have to be thinking “why not us?” and considering the state of the AL Central, they just may have the horses to be the team at the top of the standings after 60 games and make the playoffs.

And if that’s the case, you can expect to see many epic bat flips from Anderson along the way.

Tim Anderson is an All-Star bat-flipper.

Anderson had an infamous bat-flipping incident last year that drew the ire of his opponents and “old school” baseball fans who subscribe to the unwritten rules of the game and get bent out of shape when the game “isn’t played the right way.” Anderson says to hell with all that and it going to celebrate when he can and show off his personality along the way.

The White Sox should consider having a Tim Anderson bat night where they hand out inflatable bats and when he has a big hit or anyone in a Sox uniform, has a big hit, the fans toss their bats all around the stands. Baseball is fun so let’s have fun. Of course, that could be complicated by COVID-19 attendance restrictions, but the point remains that Anderson is the Mike Trout of bat flips.

And if you got a problem with his bat flips, you can find a different sport to watch.
