9. Scouting Report. QB. Aaron Rodgers. Green Bay Packers. player. 49. Pick Analysis

Betting against Aaron Rodgers is a bad policy. That’s why he’s got a serious chance to lead the NFL in passing this season despite rumblings that the Packers want to transition to an offense that leans on their ground game.

At worst, Green Bay is going to turn to Rodgers whenever they’re in trouble. What he lacks in offensive weapons, he more than makes up for in arm talent and guile. Few quarterbacks in the league are willing to take the chances that Rodgers converts on a regular basis.

Rodgers’ passing total also is strengthened by his uncanny ability to avoid turnovers. He only threw four interceptions a season ago while finding the end zone 26 times. That ratio might regress slightly this season, but Rodgers will retain his place as one of the least turnover-prone quarterbacks in the league.

In the end, Rodgers has the arm talent to deserve a higher spot on this list, but Matt LaFleur doesn’t want to give him a chance to lead the league in passing. That conflict makes the Packers one of the most intriguing teams to watch heading into the regular season. Don’t be surprised if Rodgers finds a way to win the philosophical battle with his head coach.
