It’s safe to say that Steelers fans are desperate to see Roethlisberger back on the field in 2020. The combination of Duck Hodges and Mason Rudolph gave fans a heightened appreciation of what they have in Big Ben.

Mike Tomlin and his coaching staff will hope their big-armed quarterback will return to the stellar form he displayed in 2018. That’s when he threw for 5,129 yards to carry the Steelers offense. Pittsburgh might want to see a little more help from their ground game, but Roethlisberger will still be counted on to lead their attack.

To return to those lofty heights, Roethlisberger will need some help from his wide receiving corps. JuJu Smith-Schuster needs a big season to prove that he’s a legitimate No. 1 wideout. Secondary targets like James Washington, Dionatae Johnson, and Chase Claypool must also emerge as quality players.

Roethlisberger’s willingness to take big hits always makes him an injury risk, but he’s been remarkably durable throughout his professional career. The Steelers should feel reasonably comfortable with the idea that he can stay healthy in 2020. If he does, he’ll put up big numbers in this offense.
