22. NFL Power Rankings: Denver Broncos

Some people are really high on the Broncos, including John Elway, who has made a big bet on Drew Lock being his franchise quarterback. Lock’s impressive finish to the season saw him lead Denver to a 4-1 record while completing 64.1 percent of his passes with seven touchdowns and three interceptions.

The Broncos did well to add Jerry Jeudy and K.J. Hamler with their first two picks in the draft, giving Lock a formidable trio of weapons to go along with incumbent Cortland Sutton. The problem is that five games is a very small sample size for Lock and betting on him to not experience some kind of sophomore slump makes Denver’s postseason chances iffier than you would think.

21. NFL Power Rankings: Chicago Bears

This team took a big step backward in 2019 and almost all of the blame for it lies with Mitchell Trubisky. The Bears still have a good defense and decent weapons, but Trubisky’s regression left Chicago without much confidence in his long term future, leading the team to decline his fifth-year option.

The addition of Nick Foles will add some heat to Trubisky, who will likely begin as the starter due to the Bears wanting to justify their investment in him to this point. If Foles beats Trubisky out at any point it will be a bad sign for Chicago, which will clearly need to find another quarterback for the near future.
