18. NFL Power Rankings: Las Vegas Raiders

The big news for the Raiders is their move to Las Vegas, leaving behind the Coliseum for shiny new Allegiant Stadium. The Raiders were in a prime playoff position in the middle of last season but an ill-timed three-game losing streak left the Raiders on the outside looking in at the end of the day.

There are questions about Jon Gruden’s commitment to Derek Carr as his quarterback after flirtations with the idea of pursuing Tom Brady in the offseason. Las Vegas signed Marcus Mariota to be the backup instead, putting the pressure on Carr to get the Raiders back to the playoffs since Las Vegas can get out of his contract after this season with only a $2.5 million cap hit.

17. NFL Power Rankings: Houston Texans

It feels like this franchise has gone completely down the drain after blowing that big lead to the Chiefs in the Divisional Round. Bill O’Brien pretty much lost his mind in the offseason, trading Hopkins away for pennies on the dollar while throwing around guaranteed money to players who didn’t deserve nearly as much as they got paid from Houston.

The AFC South has also gotten more competitive with Indianapolis upgrading at quarterback while Tennessee retains the core of the team that went to the AFC Championship Game in 2019. Having Deshaun Watson around helps but don’t be surprised if the Texans regress significantly and miss the playoffs this season.
