Scouting Report. QB. Green Bay Packers. Aaron Rodgers. 4. player. 49. Pick Analysis

Maybe the two-time NFL MVP has one more great run left in the tank?

Aaron Rodgers already has two NFL MVPs on his mantle. He won his first one back in 2011 coming off a Super Bowl championship season the year prior. Rodgers won his second most recently in 2014. Even though he almost wasn’t eligible to make this list in the first place, it’s still been five years since the Green Bay Packers quarterback has won league MVP. Let that sink in.

Even if you think his skill set is fading into his mid-to-late 30s, Rodgers is still widely regarded as an unquestioned top-five quarterback in the league. After Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, he might be as high as No. 2 in the eyes of some who follow the NFL. More importantly, we have seen Rodgers carry a team on his back before and play in huge championship games.

That is precisely what will be required of him to win his third league MVP. Green Bay will need to win somewhere between 11 and 13 regular-season games at some point in the next few years, finish as either the No. 1 or No. 2 seed in the NFC playoffs and play for the right to go to the Super Bowl. 4,500 passing yards and 30 touchdowns passes to only five interceptions might do the trick.

While Green Bay did draft his successor in Jordan Love out of Utah State in April, the Packers have something they never had under former head coach Mike McCarthy: A consistent running game to lean on. Second-year head coach Matt LaFleur stems from the Kyle Shanahan coaching tree. Look for that ground-first attack to open up even more plays for Rodgers to make as an elite passer.
