2. Aaron Jones

The unfortunate reality for Jones is that he’s even underrated by his own team. The Packers spent a second round pick on A.J. Dillon to prepare for Jones’ potential departure next offseason. Overpaying running backs is a poor decision for any franchise, but that doesn’t change the fact that Jones has been immensely productive for Green Bay.

Jones rushed the ball 236 times for 1,084 yards and an eye-popping 16 touchdowns in 2019. There were long stretches of time where the Packers offense revolved around his ability to keep the chains moving. If anything, Jones’ efficiency took a dip because he was overworked last season.

At worst, Jones is a running back who can put up outrageous numbers in a backfield where he’s not asked to shoulder the lion’s share of the workload. At best, he’ll show that he can be an explosive back who can handle 250+ carries. Either outcome will put him comfortably in the top 15 running backs in the NFL.

Not many people are giving him that kind of recognition this offseason. Perhaps his own team’s decision to prepare for life without him is weighing down his reputation. It’s a mistake. Jones is one of the best backs in football. That’s an obvious conclusion after watching him on film.
