3. Oregon football breakout players: Justin Flowe

Justin Flowe is the best linebacker recruit in the country, and he’s going to get playing time immediately. Despite the strange offseason, talent this intense is going to force its way on the field. This kid has sideline to sideline speed and can hit you into next week. Where Flowe has improved the most in his senior year is dropping back in coverage, which you’ll see once he does it for the Ducks.

Troy Dye and La’Mar Winston are both gone from the linebacking group, and we just don’t see any chance that Flowe doesn’t take one of those open spots. He’s going to be one of the best linebackers in college football just like he was in high school. He doesn’t have the ego that destroys some top recruits.

Flowe is going to be pushed even further by the competition he’s going to face in camp. There’s a ton of players vying for these open positions. Veterans like Isaac Slade-Matautia, Sampson Niu, and Dru Mathis aren’t going to let a freshman come in and take time away from them easily. It’s going to be a fight as soon as the Ducks return for camp.

Flowe is just too good. He could have played in college football last season. He will add a little size this offseason, and he will develop into a prototype. This is someone who will be going for all the freshman awards when the season is over.
