LeBron James said not being able to see his mom made quarantine even more difficult.

For millions of families across the country, the coronavirus pandemic has prevented loved ones from seeing one another due to quarantine and lockdown. Some have gone weeks, even months, without seeing their mom or dad. This was the case for L.A. Lakers star LeBron James, and just because he’s an NBA legend doesn’t mean he’s immune to having big emotions.

During a media session, James proved once again he’s human like the rest of us, admitting the hardest part of quarantine for him was not being able to see his mom. The two have always had an incredibly close relationship, which made things even harder for King James.

LeBron James and his mother have an incredibly close relationship.

“It was the first time in my life I had gone that long without seeing my mom,” James said. “I hadn’t seen my mom since All-Star Weekend and then I saw her three weeks before we had to report to our respective cities. That was extreme for me. Obviously you guys know my story coming from a single-parent household and being an only child. My mother was 16 when she had me.”

Clearly, James was quite emotional talking about being away from his mom and went on to say that she kept him sane during the quarantine by letting him know that in due time they’d be together once again.

With the NBA set to return to action later this month in the ‘Orlando bubble’, James, also in the MVP hunt, is focused on bringing home another title back to the Lakers trophy room.

Should he get it done, he’ll no doubt be including his mama among the people he’s dedicating it too. After all the two have been through, it’d make their separation during quarantine worth it.
