30. . . . New York Jets. 2. team

As further proven by Jamal Adams’ not-so ringing endorsement, Adam Gase has isn’t exactly winning the Jets locker room over. A hack who has convinced himself and others that he is some sort of offensive genius, Gase has parlayed one excellent season as Broncos offensive coordinator into jobs with three different organizations since 2015, never finishing higher than 21st in yards per game or points per game.

If the Jets are committed to Sam Darnold, they need to get him as far away from Gase as possible, and hiring Riley would accomplish that. The Jets bringing in Riley would show that even after another lackluster statistical season from Darnold, the organization still believes that he’s the guy.

While learning a third offensive system in four seasons isn’t ideal, offensive coordinators like Jeremy Bates and Dowell Loggains look like cavemen when stacked up against Riley’s futuristic scheme. If he keeps the surprisingly solid defense together, the Jets could turn things around with Riley at the controls.
