3. team. 4. . . . Pittsburgh Pirates

Not only are the Pirates in Year 1 of a new manager as the team looks to kick off yet another rebuild, but they will have to do so in the incredibly competitive NL Central. Josh Bell is excellent, and Bryan Reynolds is one of the most underrated players in the league, but they can only do so much. Derek Shelton knows that a toolsy outfielder with the power to do some damage despite PNC Park’s cavernous left-center gap is necessary to the Pirates turning it around, and Frazier could be the man for the job.

A promising bat like Travis Swaggerty or Jared Oliva would need to go the Yankees in a Frazier deal, but he has the ability to become a starter from Day 1 in Pittsburgh. Frazier’s speed on the basepaths and ability to use the entire field means that Shelton could conceivably slide him in anywhere from the leadoff spot to the heart of the order. It would be a bit of a gamble, but Frazier’s potential is too enticing to pass up.
