Pick Analysis. 804. player. Scouting Report. DE. Boone High School (Orlando, FL). Shambre Jackson. 4

If Norvell wants to get this thing turned around with Florida State, he must find a major metro area and dominate it in recruiting as he did at the University of Memphis with Memphis, Tennessee. Though Tallahassee, Florida would be a good start, why not try his luck down in Orlando? One player he could land in this cycle is four-star defensive end Shambre Jackson.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Jackson is the No. 17 player at his position group, the No. 31 player from Florida and the No. 220 player nationally. He has 33 official offers but is looking primarily at playing for one of these three southeastern Power 5 programs: The Alabama Crimson Tide, the Auburn Tigers and Florida State.

Jackson’s primary recruiter to Florida State is associate head coach and defensive line coach Odell Haggins. He has landed the Seminoles nine five-star players over the years, including safety Derwin James, defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan and defensive tackle Marvin Wilson. Having Haggins serving as Jackson’s primary means Florida State is serious about landing him this cycle.

While having the two notable programs from Alabama keen on his recruitment as well, it will be interesting to see if the Boone High School standout from Orlando, Florida will leave the Sunshine State to play in the Yellowhammer State. However, having Haggins as his primary recruiter and Florida State on the rebound under Norvell could tip the scales in the Seminoles’ favor for Jackson.
