San Francisco 49ers-Tevin Coleman will beat out Raheem Mostert

The 49ers gave in and improved Mostert’s contract prior to the start of the regular season, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to remain their starter for 16 games. In fact, Tevin Coleman has a great chance to steal a big portion of Mostert’s workload if he can stay healthy.

The reality is San Francisco wants to predicate their offense on winning the battle at the line of scrimmage. In other words, there will be plenty of work to go around for the team’s running backs. The talent difference between Mostert and Coleman is marginal, at best. Both guys are going to get a ton of work.

Coleman’s versatility is going to win the day though. He’s not a great pass receiver, but he will give the 49ers a slightly better option on third down as a receiver out of the backfield. Coleman is the back fantasy owners should be targeting.

Seattle Seahawks-Jamal Adams will lead the team in sacks

The Seahawks paid a heavy price to acquire Adams from the Jets this offseason. The price they paid makes it clear they have sky-high expectations for the talented safety. Interestingly, Seattle might need Adams help more around the line of scrimmage than in the final third.

That’s because the Seahawks don’t return a defender who posted more than four sacks for the team in 2019. That lack of pass rush is a major concern for Pete Carroll and his coaching staff.

To that end, it’s interesting to note that Adams notched 6.5 sacks for the Jets defense last year. It’s very likely he’s going to feature in a lot of Seattle’s blitz packages as a result. His ability to lead the team in sacks might be a symptom of their biggest weakness, but it’s one big benefit he can bring to Seattle upon his arrival.
