DT. Yondy Cajuste. player. 47. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. New England Patriots. 3

Cajuste mostly played left tackle during his time at West Virginia, but the left tackle spot is likely going to be held down by Isaiah Wynn. While Korey Cunnigham has more experience at right tackle, and he doesn’t have the same medical concerns that sidelined Cajuste for essentially the entire 2019 season, but the former Mountaineer has a much higher ceiling than a seventh-round pick with just seven games of experience to his name in two seasons.

Cajuste is not the most nimble pass protector in the world, and his medical history is certainly concerning, but New England burned a third-rounder on him because of his power at the point of attack and his ability to create holes in the running game. That skill will be even more critical this season now that the mobile Newton has replaced the stiff Tom Brady. With Cannon out until 2021, now is the time to see if the Pats unearthed another diamond in the rough.
