10 NFL players ready to become household names in 2020

5. WR Kendrick Bourne, San Francisco 49ers

Via The Athletic’s Matt Barrows, San Francisco 49ers’ general manager John Lynch wasn’t optimistic that second-year wide receiver Deebo Samuel would be available when the club kicks off the year when the team hosts the division rival San Francisco 49ers. “It’s fair to say he might miss some games at the beginning of the year,” explained Lynch.

This offseason, the defending NFC champions saw veteran wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, acquired via trade with the Broncos last October – left via free agency and signed with the New Orleans Saints. And in late April, Lynch dealt Marquise Goodwin to the Philadelphia Eagles (although he recently announced he would opt out of the 2020 season).

While All-Pro tight end George Kittle led the club with 85 catches and 1.053 receiving yards this past year, he and unsung wide receiver Kendrick Bourne tied for the team lead with five touchdown receptions. The latter finished fourth on the Niners with 30 receptions and did play in all 16 games but did not make a start. One year earlier, playing with multiple quarterbacks, the former undrafted free agent from Eastern Washington totaled 42 grabs for 487 yards and four scores while making eight starts. Given this offseason, Kyle Shanahan’s team may indeed need a big year from Bourne
