DraftKings MLB one-off picks:

BvP is one of the most polarizing things among statheads, especially when it comes to daily fantasy games. What it means is going by a batter’s past stats against the night’s pitcher. This can be the best place for mining one-off plays to differentiate your lineups though.

I’m in no hurry to stack against John Means, but Gary Sanchez, DJ LeMahieu, and Kyle Higashioka all homered against Means last year. And of course, Gleyber sees red against the Orioles.

I’m going to use Matz, but I might run J.D. Martinez or Bogaerts at him anyway. They are about the only Red Sox hitting and they project well against the lefty.

Niko Goodrum and Victor Reyes may be worth a look against Royals rookie Brady Singer, but he didn’t allow much to Cleveland. Chances are that he wont against the Tigers either. If you go after Singer, go light.

I just can’t bring myself to stack Angels with the way they are struggling, but Marco Gonzales hasn’t been all that good against them. It may not be a horrible idea.

Tyler Anderson will start and Kevin Gausman will relieve him. Neither are good, so fire up some Padres. It’s hard to coordinate a stack when the opener throws with a different arm than the long reliever, but both pitchers are so bad it might not matter.

Carlos Santana ($3,500) vs. Jose Berrios: 6-17(.353), 6 BB, 2B, 3B, HR, 5 R, 4 RBI, SB
Greg Allen ($3,100) vs. Jose Berrios: 4-9(.444), 2B, HR, 3 R, 2 RBI
Yoenis Cespedes ($3,800) vs. Martin Perez: 5-15(.333), 2 BB, 2B, 3B, 3 R, RBI
Nick Ahmed ($3,400) vs. Ross Stripling: 7-13(.538), 2 BB, 2B, 2 HR, 4 R, 6 RBI
David Peralta ($4,300) vs. Ross Stripling: 10-23(.435), 2 BB, 5 2B, 4 R, 3 RBI
Mike Trout ($6,100) vs. Marco Gonzales: 12-28(.429), 5 BB, 3 2B, 2 HR, 4 R, 4 RBI
David Fletcher ($3,200) vs. Marco Gonzales: 8-22(.364), 3 BB, 3 2B, 3B, 2 R, 3 RBI
Justin Upton ($3,600) vs. Marco Gonzales: 4-18(.222), 2 BB, 2 HR, 2 R, 5 RBI

Whit is the only lock of the day for me. I’ll have plenty of Twins righties and a fair share of Yankees as well.
