The USC football offensive line needs to add this 4-star

Though there are plenty of NFL Draft analysts who will question the level of technical development that players like Chuma Edogwa or Austin Jackson, among others, showed while at USC, one simple truth is that the Trojans have recently brought in some high-upside offensive lineman. But when you look at their current roster, particularly at guard, they need reinforcements.

As of right now, USC only has three true guards on the roster, two juniors and one sophomore. That means there is a hole to fill on this roster in the trenches. Subsequently, that also means that 4-star guard Josh Simmons might actually be one of the most important recruiting targets for the program that they’ve yet to get a commitment from.

Standing at 6-foot-6 and 280 pounds, Simmons could stand to add a little more size but is plenty strong when you watch his film. He’s strong within his frame and has a nice get-off at the snap, allowing him to quickly gain leverage and control the interior. The La Mesa, CA has the potential to not only be a great college player but as good of an NFL prospect as well — better than his No. 280 overall ranking the 247Sports Composite would have you believe.

Simmons has a great deal of interest from big-time programs as Oregon, Georgia and Michigan are all in there with USC trying to land him. Given the promise of playing time early in his career and the potential to play in what might be a potent offense under Graham Harrell, the Trojans should be considred the frontrunner to land the talented guard.
