Juan Soto’s shuffle stole the show after Josh Harrison homer.
Josh Harrison hit his first home run of the 2020 season and while it was grand and noteworthy on its own it was newly reinstated Juan Soto who stole the show. Soto climbed up onto the top of the dugout (thanks to there not being fans in the stands) and performed an MVP shuffle to celebrate his teammate’s accomplishment.
This is the first time we’ve seen the dance, and let’s hope it’s not the last.
Juan Soto just returned after being quarantined due to COVID.
Soto returned to the team for the first time on Tuesday after having missed the first few games of the season dealing with the coronavirus. He didn’t make the lineup, but his presence did not go unnoticed.
“I talked to him last night and he really felt like he probably could use another day or two. He said his legs felt a little heavy. His arm was a little sore,” Manager Dave Martinez said of Soto’s absence from the line-up (h/t ESPN). “He tried to ramp it up. … The last four days, he probably got about 20 at-bats. In that respect, he doesn’t feel that bad, but I want to make sure we keep him healthy. We just got him back. He missed a lot of time.”
Soto has been missing since Opening Day, July 23 but appeared back at practice on Saturday.
