2. Connor Williams

The Dallas Cowboys have been fortunate to have one of the best offensive lines in the entire league. From Tyron Smith to Zack Martin to up and comer La’el Collins, it’s really important that Connor Williams have a good season in 2020.

For one, Williams was a high draft pick. Dallas took him in the second round (50th overall) out of Texas. Williams remained in Texas for his pro career and he looked pretty good at the beginning of his rookie season, starting 10 games and appearing in 13 total. He was benched near season’s end though due to poor play.

It was crucial for the former Longhorn to turn things around for the better in 2019, which he was doing until a torn ACL ended his season after 11 starts. Even though Williams looks to be rehabbed and ready to go, he’s not going to be handed the left guard job in 2020.

Williams will have to battle it out for the left guard gig, squaring off against Connor McGovern, a former third round pick by the ‘Boys out of Penn State (not to be confused with the Connor McGovern who plays for the Broncos).

The Cowboys pride themselves on having a good offensive line, and if Connor Williams has another lackluster campaign, his Dallas career might be over after 2020.
