 NBA DFS guard plays

The possibility of a blowout has me off of most Philly players, in particular Ben Simmons. There are much better options below him at guard and forward. However, Josh Richardson could be an interesting play. He’s not too expensive, and he plays a lot of minutes.

Chris Paul is one of the middle tier guys that stands out. Schroder is away from the team, so both Paul and SGA will see an uptick in usage. SGA was a disaster on Monday. Paul is the consistent piece, and I have no issues using them both against the Lakers.

Yes, Orlando is tough on guards, but Lowry and VanVleet are both playing so well in the bubble that it might not matter. Miami is also tough on guards, and VanVleet torched them for 36 actual points. He’s one of my favorite SG plays on any site.

Pay attention to the status of Jamal Murray. Not to play him, but to use Derrick White and/or Dejounte Murray against Denver. It’s a lot tougher matchup with Jamal in there. DeMar DeRozan is a strong play across the board as well.

I don’t trust any of the Utah guards, but both Mike Conley and Donovan Mitchell are priced at a point where they can deliver 6x value with relative ease. I don’t plan on going heavily on either one, but I will have some exposure.

I’ll buy one Terrence Ross lottery ticket against his former team, but only one and only in large field GPP’s.

Value is really hard to come by at guard today, particularly at the point. Payton is back and Jerian Grant is also present in the Washington backcourt. Ish is priced too high now to rely on. I’m still very high on Troy Brown though, especially at the price point on all sites. Jerome Robinson is a solid play on the cheap too, but he doesn’t have the upside of Brown.

Someone has to eat the SG minutes for Denver. Torrey Craig is still going to play plenty of minutes for the price. He’s worth a look if you need to go cheap.

If you had to make me choose value at the point, it would be Patty Mills or Alex Caruso, but I think the better play is to spend money at the point.

At SG, you can run Luguentz Dort out there with Schroder away from the team. Grayson Allen has looked good with the Grizzlies lately, but both aren’t without risk.
