DK Metcalf is heading into year two of his career and he’s learned one big thing from his quarterback.

DK Metcalf had a nice rookie campaign for the Seahawks and he’s already learned a lot from Russell Wilson, his quarterback in Seattle.

Metcalf shared the biggest piece of advice he’s learned from his quarterback, which lines up well with how the former Ole Miss wideout’s NFL career got started.

As you’ll remember, Metcalf was projected to be a first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, but ended up plummeting past the first round. It was shocking to those of us watching at home, as Metcalf had been really productive for the Rebels.

The Seahawks ended up taking him in the second round (64th overall) and would not regret it.

DK Metcalf went on to grab 58 catches for 900 yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie.

Wilson’s advice to him rang true for Metcalf, as he wasn’t handed an easy start to his professional football career. When the Seahawks called him to tell him they were taking him, he was so appreciative and knew that he had to get right to work and prove everyone else wrong.

Russell Wilson knows a thing or two about having to earn your place, as he was a third-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft and has since gone on to be the best quarterback out of that year’s draft class. He’s also the only one out of that group to win a Super Bowl and did it in just his second year in the league.

Metcalf can learn a lot from Wilson and if these two continue to be on the same page, there’s no telling how terrific of a player Metcalf will be in Seattle.
