What NFL Teams are most likely to finish 8-8 this season?

A subtle reminder is in order. None of these teams are forecasted to be bad. But they will not be overly prosperous.
This applies to the 2020 Chicago Bears. Unless an undisclosed rookie around the NFL emerges, the Bears are the only team in the business to enter training camp with an honest-to-goodness quarterback battle. And, there’s a reason that Chicago is the only team beset by this predicament. General managers and coaches tend to discourage waffling at the most vital position on the depth chart. At least for a few weeks, the Bears will waffle.
The front office yearns for fourth-year Mitchell Trubisky signal-caller to blossom. The Bears notoriously passed on Patrick Mahomes in the 2017 NFL Draft in favor of Trubisky. Two seasons ago, Trubisky showed pieces of flair intertwined with his play but then an embarrassing step backward was taken in 2019.
In response, Chicago swapped a fourth-round draft pick with Jacksonville for Super Bowl LII MVP Nick Foles. Foles is a reputable insurance policy.
The Bears will have a stout defense–that tendency is close to “death, taxes, and..” territory. Yet, the offense will likely mix-and-match Trubisky and Foles’ leadership throughout the season if the offense displays anemic symptoms. Rarely does that instability bode well for the enterprise.
Because the defense will be stingy on their end and the offensive will be plagued with inconsistency, the Bears are nominee number-one for the 8-8 moniker.
