Some good things come out of quarantine after all, and Roger Federer is winning away from the tennis court.

When COVID-19 first became a major global pandemic, Italy was one of the hardest-hit nations in the world, and they implemented incredibly strict quarantine violations. That didn’t stop two young girls from working on their tennis game, and they went viral when they posted a video playing tennis across neighboring roofs.

One of the 10 million views on the video was international tennis legend Roger Federer, who also happens to be the girls’ favorite tennis player. The star surprised the two girls and played a round of rooftop tennis with them. Even in quarantine, these girls managed to have the opportunity of a lifetime.

Federer didn’t just play alongside his young fans. He also arranged for them to attend a summer camp at the Rafa Nadal Academy, a tennis training program run by the coaches of Rafael Nadal, another tennis icon. Federer isn’t just a great tennis player; he’s clearly a good guy who genuinely cares about his fans.

This isn’t the first time Federer has done something sweet for one of his supporters. Back in December 2019, he met up with a 107-year old superfan and visited a nurse who is a cancer-survivor just a couple of weeks ago. Federer is bringing us all of the heartwarming news that we all desperately need right now.

Federer has managed to keep busy during quarantine in between visits to fans. The Swiss star is recovering from a knee surgery and has been spending plenty of time with his wife and four children. He has opted out of the upcoming U.S. Open, as has Nadal,  which will give him plenty of time to complete his rehabilitation before making his comeback.
