The Packers defense has gotten better and while that does include Kevin King, he still hasn’t been the corner they were hoping to get when they took him in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

King, a highly-regarded prospect coming out of Washington, had his best year of his career last season and he was able to start a career high 14 games and appear in 15 total. King had 66 tackles and five interceptions during year three, but he’s heading into his contract year and it’s now or never for King if he wants to stay in Green Bay.

With how much of a passing league the NFL has become, defenses need to be built to stop the pass (or at least slow it down) and the Packers were wise to draft both King and Jaire Alexander in back to back drafts, but now it’s time for King to play as well as Alexander has been.

His five interceptions showed he can be a turnover machine and with a stacked NFC North, that needs to be where he contributes the most.
