The Washington Football Team got some good injury news on Sunday

On Sunday, the Washington Football Team activated linebacker Reuben Foster off the PUP list. Foster tore his ACL and MCL during last year’s OTAs and has been sidelined since. According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Foster is on track to play in Washington’s season opener against the Eagles on September 13th.

Foster has had a turbulent NFL career so far, to say the least. Since being selected by the 49ers in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Foster has been at the center of three legal controversies.

Foster’s career has been anything but smooth

The first came in 2018, when he was charged with felony domestic abuse. For this incident, Foster was alleged to have punched his girlfriend 8-10 in the head and physically thrown out of the house. Eventually, these charges were dropped.

Foster was then suspended two games in 2018 by the NFL for marijuana and gun charges.

Then, in November of 2018, Foster was arrested at the team hotel for another domestic abuse incident. This time, he was alleged to have pushed the woman against a wall and slapped her across the face. The 49ers decided to release him and Washington claimed him two days later. The charges were dropped and he was never suspended by the NFL.

Foster is yet to play a single snap for Washington and will finally look to make his debut this season. When he’s been on the field, Foster has been solid. In 2017, he recorded 72 tackles in only 10 games, including seven tackles for loss and five quarterback hits. He received a PFF grade on 81.2, which is exceptional, especially for a rookie.

Washington will hope Foster will be able to stay on the field and stay out of trouble off the field.
