Fantasy Football breakout players: NFC South
Jared Cook looks to build on a career year in 2019 with an even better year in 2020. Not every target can go to Michael Thomas…..right????!
Jared Cook (currently ranked as: TE9): I won’t lie, I am not the biggest Jared Cook fan but I can’t deny his fantasy potential. Truth be told, prior to last year, I had been burned too times by Jared to the point where I refused to draft him so naturally he had his best year. Cook finished as TE7 (in PPR) despite missing two games last year, and not having Drew Brees for some of the year. I expect defense to key in on Michael Thomas and force someone else to beat them. However, it is hard to stop the 1 yard routes that Michael Thomas runs (and then flexes on). Jared will yet again be another Top 10 TE. He will see plenty of one on one coverage and he will exploit some secondaries.
Other Saints I expect to have great seasons: Alvin Kamara (RB5): Alvin should have a much better year than last year. If he slides in your draft, pick him up. Prior to week 16, Kamara only had two touchdowns. Something tells me he will have a few more than that this year. Tre’Quan Smith: Okay this is just because he went to UCF and as a UCF alum, I had to mention him.
I wrote about the other 7 divisions. Check out the breakout stars from those divisions below.
If you can think of other NFC South breakout stars that I missed, leave them in the comments below. We all just want some football and hopefully the NFL can pull through in some capacity.
