Kyle Kuzma says he can score on Jesus after Lakers game-winner (Video)

Kyle Kuzma thinks he can score on anyone, and who are we to question him?
With the Lakers in need of hero, it was not LeBron James or Anthony Davis who stepped up in the final seconds against the Denver Nuggets, with LA in desperate need of a confidence boost. Instead, it was the 25-year-old guard who seemingly never lacks that bravado, made out of the JR Smith mold (ironically enough, his teammate now) in Kuzma who willingly accepted the dribble handoff and drilled the corner three as if the Orlando bubble were his home gym.
In many ways it is, and these flashes of brilliance symbolizing Kuzma coming into his own as a third option next to two of the greatest players of their generations serves as a reminder of his true potential on the basketball court, at least when he doesn’t have to guard the opposing team’s best player.
Kuzma’s confidence is at an all-time high after sending the Nuggets back to their hotel rooms unhappy
“I think Jesus could be in front of me and I’d probably still shoot,” Kuzma said after the game, in reference to shooting over Bol Bol for the final make of the game.
In Monday night’s scenario, fine. With just seconds on the clock, Kuzma had no choice but to shoot over the outstretched arms of a seven-footer in Bol, who came just short of making impact with the basketball. Instead, Kuzma had enough elevation to get the shot off unhindered.
Los Angeles had been just 2-4 in the bubble before Monday’s win, and one victory doesn’t answer the questions that surround them at this juncture, most of which LeBron James insists are off the court.-related. Of course, we’ve seen James’ teams struggle towards the end of the regular season before, only to rebound once the postseason starts en route to an NBA Finals run.
In terms of LeBron’s playoff demise, we’ll still believe it when we see it.
