Cameron Grimes picks up the victory to move onto NXT TakeOver XXX.

Danny Burch did not want to wait to get revenge on attacking Karrion Kross. But that did not give him much of an advantage as Kross easily turned the tide to stop him in his tracks. Burch was able to get some offense in the form of a couple of German suplexes, but none of them had any real effect on Kross. The outcome came swiftly once Kross locked in a sleeper hold that put Burch out cold in the middle of the ring.

Drake Maverick was out next, and he faced a big challenge in the likes of Killian Dain. Dain was battering Maverick around the ring for much of the outing until the Undisputed Era hit the ring like a pack of wolves. They decimated both wrestlers to send a message to Pat McAfee and everyone in the NXT locker room.

Tyler Breeze was looking for revenge when he competed against Santos Escobar in one-on-one action. Last week, Escobar and his faction beat up Breeze’s partner in Fandango, leaving Breeze to fend for himself. Escobar got off to an early advantage and looked like he was going to run through Breeze. But Breeze was able to shift the momentum and fight back. Escobar’s stable would run down and distract Breeze, giving Escobar the space to finish off Breeze to get the victory.

Indi Hartwell has been on a roll as of late, picking up a set of recent wins. This week she was put up against Mia Yim in a singles match. Yim was the more experienced wrestler in the match, but every time she attempted to get something going, Hartwell was right there to answer. She could not get out of the shoulder submission that Yim locked onto Hartwell which was enough to get her victory.

Bronson Reed keeps on rolling

Damian Priest and Bronson Reed are heading toward NXT TakeOver XXX to compete for the NXT North American title but before that was to happen, they had a singles match on Wednesday’s edition of NXT. The big men exchanged power moves to one-up each other, but Reed got the upper hand when he knocked Priest off his feet. Priest switched his strategy to hit and move but Reed kept catching him and laying him out with power moves. Priest was finally able to lift Reed and started bouncing him around the ring. But the end came when Reed swept Priest’s legs out from under him and caught him with the sneak pinfall.

Women’s tag team action is up next. Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter competed against the Robert Stone brand duo of Mercedes Martinez and Aliyah. Martinez did most of the heavy-hitting for this team, dominating both Carter and Catanzaro. Aliyah was in for moments but her presence allowed for the hot tag to get Catanzaro back in the ring. Martinez caught Catanzaro in midair to hit her with the Air Raid Crash to pick up the win for her team.

The main event of the evening was another triple threat match to determine the ladder match participants for the NXT North American title. Kushida and Cameron Grimes were the known members of this match, but the third man was a mystery. A mystery that turned out to be Velveteen Dream. This was a back-and-forth battle with all three men having their moments. Kushida was the MVP as it seemed like he had this match won multiple times. But Grimes used an opening to land the Cave In stomp on Kushida to get the victory.
