Travis Kelce and Zach Ertz are surely elated to see George Kittle just signed a massive extension with the San Francisco 49ers.

History was made on Thursday morning, as the San Francisco 49ers broke the bank to make George Kittle one of the happiest men in the Bay Area. Indeed, per multiple reports, Kittle received a five-year extension worth $75 million from general manager John Lynch and the 49ers.

The NFC West powerhouse had said multiple times they wanted to give Kittle a raise he deserved, which they did in a handsome way. However, Kittle won’t be the only one pumped up about the news of his new deal.

That’s because the market has officially been set for the top tight ends out there who are also looking for monster new contracts. You better believe both Travis Kelce and Zach Ertz will be reaching out to their agents soon following the Kittle news.

Both Travis Kelce and Zach Ertz will be looking for bigger deals in the near future with George Kittle now making $15 million per season

Starting with Kelce, he signed a five-year, $46.8 million contract with Kansas City back in 2016. Fast forward four years later, and his deal is nearly $30 million less than what San Francisco is giving Kittle.

Kelce is set to make $8 million this year and $7.75 million next season in the final year of his contract. He’s set to become an unrestricted free agent in 2022. It goes without saying, but the Chiefs are going to want to do everything possible to make sure the 30-year-old tight end doesn’t leave town after his current contract is up, especially if he helps the organization bring home another Super Bowl title.

Kittle is set to make $15 million a season, though, which is around double what Kelce is currently making. If they want to make sure he keeps making big plays for Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid, they’ll need to cough up some serious dough to ensure that happens.

Meanwhile with Ertz and the Eagles, the former Stanford standout also signed a five-year deal in 2016, with his contract worth $42.5 million. Now 29 years old, it’s safe to say Ertz has outplayed that contract and will be looking for a big pay pump himself soon.

Ertz will be making $6.2 million this campaign and $8.25 million next season. He’ll then become an unrestricted free agent in 2022. A former second-round pick, Ertz has become one of the top tight ends in the league and the most reliable option in the passing attack for Carson Wentz.

In 2018, Ertz, a three-time Pro Bowler, posted a sensational 116 receptions for 1,163 yards and eight touchdowns. He followed that up with 88 catches for 916 yards and six scores last season.

While Kittle may be sipping champagne right now to celebrate his $75 million contract, Kelce and Ertz should be fired up too. Once it’s time for them to negotiate their new deals, the $15 million per campaign salary will be a major talking point, no doubt.
