4. Continue dominance of AFC West

Dating back to 2013 and under head coach Andy Reid, the Kansas City Chiefs own a combined 77-35 regular-season record and have been to the playoffs six times in seven years. The team has currently reached the postseason five consecutive years, second only to the Patriots (11). And since 2015, Reid and company have absolutely owned their division.

A wild card club the first year of that span, the Chiefs have won the AFC West the past four seasons. And since 2015, Reid’s squad is a gaudy 27-3 combined vs. the Broncos, Raiders and Chargers. Kansas City owns a 9-1 record vs. each of their three long-time rivals the past five seasons and in the case of the team from the Mile High City, the Chiefs have knocked off Denver nine consecutive times. They will attempt to match Denver’s recent streak of five straight division titles, the last in 2015 when that club captured Super Bowl 50.

It’s worth noting that all three teams have made considerable changes this offseason. It’s also worth a mention that the Chiefs were the only team to finish above .500 this past year. Vic Fangio’s club has the look of an up-and-comer but can they or the other two teams mount a serious challenge to the defending Super Bowl champions?
