It doesn’t matter, they have too much talent not to make the playoffs.

For better or worse, we’re going there. The 2020 Cleveland Browns have too much talent on their roster to not be a playoff team in the AFC. If they played in the NFC, it’d be easy to be on the fence if Cleveland is getting in or not. However, can you name seven teams in the AFC that are certainly better than Cleveland entering this season? Its NFL-worst playoff drought ends this postseason.

Cleveland has a new head coach in Kevin Stefanski and general manger in Andrew Berry with Ivy League roots. Simply put, the Browns now have enough adults in the room to not be a grease fire of an organization going forward. The mistake on the lake may be a thing of the past now, and that’d be great, as we’d love to see this high-octane offense have a chance at playing in January.

Of course, third-year starting quarterback Baker Mayfield needs to play considerably better. So much of the Browns’ successes or failures on the gridiron this year are contingent on how well he plays. He has more weapons on his side than he probably ever did have at any point playing for the Oklahoma Sooners. If it all clicks for him, he has a shot at being a first-time Pro Bowler this fall.

As for if the Browns can usurp the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North, that feels a tad more likely than the Pittsburgh Steelers being able to pull it off, but it’s still not very likely. However, if you had to pick between the Browns and the Steelers to be a Wild Card team this year out of the AFC this year, the safer bet might be the Browns, as we have more faith in what they can be offensively.
