Dylan Carlson’s family had a priceless reaction to the outfielder making his MLB debut. 

Making your Major League Baseball debut is a special moment for any young player out there. For St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Dylan Carlson, that was the case for him this weekend, getting called up and seeing some early playing time.

Unfortunately for Carlson, his family wasn’t able to see his debut live, as fans are still not permitted inside stadiums due to concerns with the coronavirus pandemic. However, that doesn’t mean they aren’t cheering on the youngster in a big way from home.

Carlson recorded his first-career MLB hit on Saturday, and his family was able to watch it from home on a television. Their reaction to seeing him send a ball to right field was absolutely priceless.

That’s a moment Carlson and his loved ones will never forget. You can see just how happy they are in the video, making it such a special moment. For Carlson, his promotion to the bigs figured to come sooner than later.

He entered the 2020 campaign as St. Louis’ top prospect and was ranked among the best 20 prospects in the bigs. Last season, Carlson was an absolute force in the minors. He hit .292 and belted 26 home runs.

The St. Louis front office believes he has one hell of a future with the club. That base hit he delivered on Saturday is just the first of many.

Not only did Carlson make great contact with that pitch, but he showed off some incredible wheels to stretch that single into a double.
