5. Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson adds MVP to his resumé

In July, actor Russell Crowe was snubbed for an Emmy nomination with his performance in Showtime’s miniseries, “The Loudest Voice.” Snubs are no stranger to men named Russell. In his eight-year NFL career, Russell Wilson has never received a single MVP vote. He only owns the second-best passer rating of all-time.

The injustice stops in 2020. Saddled with weapons such as running backs Chris Carson and Carlos Hyde, wideouts Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf, and tight ends Will Dissly and Greg Olsen — Russell Wilson has the supporting offensive cast to put up gaudy numbers and win the trophy. He’s already a tried-and-true winner. The bolstered firepower is merely a perk.

Furthermore, Seattle regularly tops the lists of teams figured to be at the forefront of the Josh Gordon or Antonio Brown sweepstakes’. Both men are beleaguered by behavioral dilemmas that are seemingly habitual. If one or both men become teetotalers and rejoin the NFL, Seattle is consistently rumored to be a sensible destination.

On paper, Wilson already has enough firepower to guide this 2020 roster to success, but the well-behaved versions of Gordon or Brown would serve as cake cherries.

The MVP drought in rainy Seattle ends in 2020 with Wilson finally hoisting the Joe F. Carr Trophy.
