4. Lean on a revamped offensive line

This offseason, three-time Pro Bowl right guard Brandon Brooks went down with an Achilles injury that has him sidelined for now (although teammate Lane Johnson won’t rule out a return this year, via Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports/Philadelphia).

Meanwhile, the organization had already decided not to bring back nine-time Pro Bowl left tackle Jason Peters as the full-time transition to Andre Dillard, the team’s first-round draft choice in 2019, would begin to take place.

But lo and behold, Peters is indeed back with the organization and will take over in place of Brooks. And now he’ll be flanked by Johnson and star center Jason Kelce.

The team’s Super Bowl campaign of 2017 was highlighted by an excellent performance by Philadelphia’s offensive front. While Peters missed a large part of that year and wasn’t around for the playoffs, the unit as a whole came up big for quarterbacks Carson Wentz and eventually, Nick Foles.

This past season, Doug Pederson’s club showed it still could play power football with the best teams in the league. Scoring points was rarely a problem for the Birds. And if this unit can up its game just a bit in 2020, it could lead to a lot of big things.
