Chase Young is destroying people at Washington practice.

Former Missouri offensive tackle Paul Adams just wanted to show Ron Rivera and the rest of the Washington Football Team that he belongs in the NFL, but rookie sensation Chase Young had other ideas, inadvertently making him the victim of one of the first viral training camp clips of the 2020 NFL season.

Young, who was picked No. 2 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft and was ranked by many as the top prospect in the entire draft, grabbed Adams’ pads and threw him to the ground despite weighing about 60 pounds less. His speed, power, and refined pass rush technique were evident at Ohio State, and the NFL is just now starting to get a taste of how good he can be.

Chase Young should start right away after dominating at Ohio State.

Despite missing time due to a suspension after accepting a loan for a friend and regularly being double-teamed, Young recorded 16.5 sacks in 12 games last year. He was named a finalist for the Heisman Trophy, a rarity for a defensive player. Washington has holes at wide receiver and on the offensive line, but Young was a no-brainer pick at No. 2.

The future of Washington lies in two Buckeyes, as Young and Dwayne Haskins have been tabbed as franchise cornerstones on both sides of the ball. While Young is considered more of a sure-fire, blue-chip prospect than Haskins, Young’s speed off the edge and Haskins’ rocket arm have helped Washington quietly build the nucleus of a strong team in 2020. He is expected to pair with Montez Sweat and Ryan Kerrigan to form one of the league’s best pass rush combinations.

Young’s wild ride in Washington will officially start in a few weeks, when they open the season against the Philadelphia Eagles on September 13. Expect him to hit the ground running, as his physical traits are second-to-none.
