Drew Lock

When rookie quarterback Drew Lock took over the reigns for the Broncos with five games left in the 2019 season, the entire outlook for the team changed. The team played harder, smarter and better – and it made all the difference in the world. After starting the season 3-8, the team caught fire with the insertion of Lock into the starting lineup, finishing 4-1 under the lead of the former Missouri Tiger.

And Denver, especially general manager and Pro Football Hall of Famer John Elway, has to be praying that they’ve finally gotten it right with their 2019 second round selection of Lock.

Fortunately for the team, they finally have it right.

Drew Lock is a legitimate quarterback presence for a team that’s been desperate for one since the retirement of future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning. Since Manning’s departure, the team has gone through quarterback-after-quarterback, failing regularly along the way. But with the former SEC standout, it appears they’ve finally gotten it right.

And the aforementioned investments are substantial reminders that the team is all-in with Lock. The team has bolstered the offensive line, improved the receiving threats at both wide receiver and tight end, and improved the run game.

If the team is right about Lock, and we believe they are, then this team is built to win in 2020. We should expect that not only should they compete for a spot in the playoffs, but that they should be competing for a shot at the sport’s top prize, too!
